Worship is our response to God, giving Him the glory He alone deserves because of who He is and what He has done in our lives. While music and worship are not the same thing, God has ordained a unique relationship between them. Both through example and command, Scripture shows us the vital role music plays in the worship of God. Psalm 66:2 says we are to “sing the glory of His name; give to Him glorious praise.” Music to the Christian is more than just the harmony of voice and instrument. It is a gift from God, part of life in the Church-body, and part of our expression to God; how we speak to Him, how we adore Him. Even in Heaven, music remains (Revelations 5:13).
The Music and Worship Ministry of ICM exists to glorify the Living God, by encouraging both the body and musicians to offer a sacrifice of praise to Him. Therefore, part of the work of this ministry is to train and mentor musicians who have a desire to use their gifts of music and technical abilities to honour and serve the Lord Almighty.
