International Church of Milan An authentic church in a changing world

Ciao Family,

Please note, we are gathering for worship this Sunday, May 30 at the church in Rozanno (Viale Toscana 46/8) at 17:30. Just like the old days! Hope you will plan to be there!

For the Zoomers, we also plan to Zoom our worship service this Sunday, May 30 at 17:30.

With so few people around, we’re not sure what Sunday will look like. We may have a traditional worship service, or, we may have a Bible study (see questions below), or, we may have a combination of the two. We will see how the Lord leads. Here are the details on how to join on Zoom.

Please read Isaiah Chapter 43. Our focus will be on the following questions:

  1. From Isaiah 43:1, what are the real-life implications of the fact that we are created? What insights do you glean from Isaiah 29:16, 45:9, 64:8, Romans 9:20-2? How would you explain the Potter-clay metaphor to an unbeliever?
  2. From Isaiah 43:1, what three things has God done for His people? With what exclamation does the LORD end that great verse? Meditate deeply on this reality…Any thoughts?
  3. From Isaiah 43:2, what are God’s promises to His people? What do these promises mean to you in an everyday-practical-sense? How do you actively appropriate these promises of God?
  4. From Isaiah 43:3-5, what does God declare about Himself? What does He declare about His people? Any thoughts?
  5. From Isaiah 43:7, list the verbs God uses in describing His people. Why do you think God repeatedly mentions these realities? What is He teaching us? See also, Isaiah 43:21 and 25.
  6. From Isaiah 43:10-13, list everything God declares about Himself. Then, list everything God declares about His people. Take one truth from each of your lists and tease out its implications in obeying James 2:22 and 1 Timothy 6:12.
  7. From Isaiah 43:22-24, list what Jacob/Israel is failing to do in their worship? List what they have done instead of worship? (Personal) How would you evaluate your worship? What would you say is the essence of worship? Explain.
  8. In regard to question seven, how was Jacob/Israel comparable to the modern church? How does Jesus Christ speak to this in the Revelation? See Revelation 2:4-5, 14-16, 20-23, 3:1-3, 3:15-17.
  9. From Isaiah 43:25, what is the ultimate reason God saves? What does this mean? Why is it good news? Why does it matter? How would you explain this to an unbeliever?

Every blessing,

Jim & Karen
